ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level - Agile Tester (CTFL-AT)

The Foundation level Agile Tester Extension qualification has been designed for the increasing number of testing professionals who are working within an agile context. It is available to anybody who has successfully completed the Foundation level.

ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level - Model-Based Tester (CTFL-MBT)

Model-based testing is an innovative test approach to improve effectivity and efficiency of the test process. A model-based tester on a project uses models to drive test analysis and design, and keeps advantage of the models for other testing activities such as test implementation and reporting.

ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level - Performance Testing (CTFL-PT)

Performance efficiency (or simply “performance”) is an essential part of providing a “good experience” for users when they use their applications on variety of fixed and mobile platforms. Performance testing plays a critical role in establishing acceptable quality levels for the end user.

The CTFL-PT syllabus considers the technical aspects, method-based aspects, and organisation aspects of performance testing.

ISTQB® Certified Tester Foundation Level - Acceptance Testing (CTFL-AcT)

The Foundation Level Acceptance Testing qualification is essential for anyone involved in software testing activities particularly business analysts, software developers and product owners and it complements the expertise of the software testing team.

Essential skills that are valid in today’s organisations are covered in the syllabus. Defining acceptance criteria and business process modelling assistance in the assessment and validation of the business solution. Collaboration between business analysts and testers is key to the success of a project. The syllabus can be applied to both Agile and more traditional methodologies.

ISTQB® Certified Tester Advanced Level - Technical Test Analyst (CTAL-TTA)

Building on the Foundation Level, the Advanced Level supports the definition of career paths for professional testers. A person with the Advanced Level Certificate has extended the broad understanding of testing acquired at the Foundation Level to enable the role of Test Manager or Test Analyst to be performed. Test Analyst skills may be further extended into the role of Technical Test Analyst.

The Advanced Level qualification is aimed at people who wish to build on the knowledge and skills acquired at the Foundation Level and develop further their expertise in one or more specific areas.  The modules offered at the Advanced Level Specialist cover a wide range of testing topics.

A Test Automation Engineer is one who has broad knowledge of testing in general, and an in-depth understanding in the special area of test automation. An in-depth understanding is defined as having sufficient knowledge of test automation theory and practice to be able to influence the direction that an organization and/or project takes when designing, developing and maintaining test automation solutions for functional tests.

The Advanced Level Security Tester qualification is aimed at people who have already achieved an advanced point in their careers in software testing and wish to develop further their expertise in security testing. The modules offered at the Advanced Level cover a wide range of testing topics.

An ISTQB® Advanced Security Tester should have detailed knowledge of security risks, vulnerabilities and defenses in order to create and perform tests that validate the effectiveness of existing and new security defenses in a given context.
