Advanced Level
The three Advanced certificates are for experienced testing practitioners and aim to demonstrate a depth of knowledge of testing topics and the ability to perform testing activities in practice.
The three modules/certificates are:
- ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst;
- ISTQB Advanced Test Manager; and
- ISTQB Advanced Technical Test Analyst (available soon).
Each course typically consists of five days of tuition and an examination. The ISTQB Foundation certificate is a prerequisite for any Advanced exam.
The Advanced certificates place an emphasis on practicality, gaining maximum benefit from classroom time, learning valuable skills and then applying them in the workplace.
The ANZTB was the first National Board to offer these examinations based on ISTQB's 2007 syllabus.
Due to the calibre of Advanced exams our recommendations are as follows:
ISTQB Advanced Test Analyst Examination
Three years of broad testing experience (not mandatory) and the ISTQB Foundation Certificate (mandatory).
ISTQB Advanced Test Manager Examination
Three years of broad testing experience plus one year as a Test Manager (not mandatory) and the ISTQB Foundation Certificate (mandatory).
