Our Vision
To support professional testing in the Australia and New Zealand region through the provision of accreditation services and the establishment of high quality examination processes.
Our Functions
ANZTB is the regional body representing and supporting software testing professionals in Australia and New Zealand.
The ANZTB was constituted in Sydney in August 2005 as a non-profit organisation and a member of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).
In conjunction with the ISTQB, the ANZTB is responsible for providing a consistent trusted accreditation system for the education and training of professional testers. Our Board develops, adopts and sets standards for software testing, training course development, and professional qualification.
ANZTB is responsible for certification of testing professionals to the standards and syllabi laid down by the ISTQB.
ANZTB also acts to generate public awareness of the economic and risk mitigation benefits that professional software testing practice offers.
The Board is comprised of highly experienced professionals in software testing who volunteer their time to the development, maintenance and promotion of the ISTQB Certified Tester Program in Australia and New Zealand.
ANZTB supports members from all areas of the software testing industry. Our Board aims to support the IT Industry in elevating software testing from art form to engineering discipline.
An artist achieves a result that pleases some people some of the time. A scientist will find an answer to the question you asked, eventually, and at an indeterminate cost. An engineer will consistently get it on your desk on time, on budget and conforming to specifications.
The ANZTB offers:
- Accreditation and on-going audit of training providers to supply courses which meet the ISTQB's syllabi.
- Facilitation of certification of individuals according to ISTQB standards.
- Promotion of testing as a worthwhile career path for IT testing professionals throughout Australasia.
Becoming involved with ANZTB
We’re always interested in hearing from people who are passionate about software testing and interested in helping us to advance the testing profession.
There are various ways in which you could contribute to ANZTB, for example, by helping with the smooth running of our Special Interest Group in Software Testing (SIGiST) events, by delivering a SIGiST presentation, or by assisting with our annual conferences.
For a greater level of involvement, you might want to consider nominating to become an ANZTB Associate. This voluntary role consists of supporting ANZTB Board members in various activities and attending our AGM. Details of our current Associates are available here.
From time to time we call for nominations for new Associates in a competitive selection process, where candidates outline their skills, aspirations, and previous contributions to ANZTB by completing a detailed Associate Application Form. Applications are considered by the Board at the next meeting, with successful candidates being appointed. Note that not all selection processes result in appointments.
If you would like to be notified when the next Associate selection process opens, or are interested in contributing to ANZTB in some other way, please e-mail: info@anztb.org.
