To support professional testing in the Australia / New Zealand region through the provision of accreditation services and the establishment of high quality examination processes.
The Australian and New Zealand Testing Board (ANZTB) is the regional body representing and supporting software testing professionals in Australia and New Zealand.
The ANZTB was constituted in Sydney in August 2005 as a not-for-profit organisation. It is a member of the International Software Testing Qualifications Board (ISTQB).
In conjunction with the ISTQB the ANZTB is responsible for providing a consistent trusted accreditation system for the education and training of professional testers. The board develops, adopts and promulgates standards for software testing, training course development, and professional qualification.
The ANZTB is responsible for certification of testing professionals to the standards and syllabi laid down by the ISTQB.
The ANZTB also acts to generate public awareness of the economic and risk mitigation benefits that professional software testing practice offers.
The ANZTB comprises a group of highly experienced professionals in software testing who volunteer their time to the development, maintenance and promotion of the ISTQB Certified Tester Programme in Australia and New Zealand.
The ANZTB supports members from all areas of the software testing industry. The Board aims to support the IT Industry in elevating software testing from art form to engineering discipline.
An "artist" achieves a result that pleases some of the people some of the time. A scientist will find an answer to the question you asked, eventually, and at an indeterminate cost. An engineer will consistently get it on your desk on time, on budget and conforming to specifications.
The ISTQB is composed of representatives from each existing National board, such as the ANZTB, ASTQB, ISTQB-India. The ISTQB decides on the standards for certification and accreditation as an ISTQB accredited training providers. Working parties within the ISTQB are responsible for developing and maintaining the Foundation and Advanced Level syllabi and exams. As with ANZTB all members are volunteers.
